The Parishes of Gulval and Madron seek to know, understand, care for and support the communities and the environment that we love and serve in tne name of God'

Welcome to our website from the parishes of Madron with Heamoor and Gulval. I hope you can find your way around easily, and if you are in the area, we would love to see you, especially for a service. See below for staff details. Directions to and opening times plus regular service times and photos can be found under 'Welcome' for each church.

The parishes of Madron and Gulval run across the top and sides of Penzance (rather like a good head of hair). The two parish churches are medieval granite churches linked with the Celtic saints which gave the villages their name. St Thomas, Heamoor is a mission church from the end of the Victorian era. It is easy to miss it, surrounded by houses and at the lowest point of the village which is now a suburb of Penzance. (see directions to the churches under each church page)

Coming events for Jan - July 2012 are now uploaded on the coming events page

House Groups resume the week beginning February 6th 2012 - a series of seven on the Creed. See House Groups page for days, times and venues

    What we do

We aim as a staff to present Jesus in such a way that people put their trust in him and grow in that faith. Our services are a mixture of old and new, sung and said, so that hopefully there will be something for everybody. We use a home-produced book for communion (Common Worship) and laminated cards for Family Service, Baptism and Family Communion. We also have large-print versions of these and cards for Morning and Evening Prayer and Holy Communion from the Prayer Book (NB These are the services marked 'trad' under the separate church service times and descriptions)

As well as our regular services we have house groups meeting in school term time (see page) , social and fundraising events (see calendar) and special times for church opening

    Opening times
